I am so excited that our master bedroom is complete! For the first time since the fall of 2005 ALL of our bedroom furniture has been able to fit in one room and I'm lovin' it!
My one grievance is that we were not able to center our bed underneath the lights. The bed would have been too close to the dresser and it would have been difficult to walk around the bed and open the drawers. Because we only really have two walls that are useable there was only one other way to arrange our furniture and we would have had the same problem, so we'll live with it!
DETAILS:
We bought these lights at Menard's for about $25 each. I wanted more of a chandelier (a small one), but had to compromise on these pendants. I really like them, plus if we want to change the glass shade it's really easy and inexpensive to do!
The Wedding Wall
Our last name initial, one portrait from our wedding day and someone gave us a frame with our invitation in it and another space for a picture so we used one of the proofs from our wedding day pictures.
One cool thing about buying my father in law's house (and the house that John grew up in) is all of the childhood memorabilia that we found. This piece of art was done by John (although we're not sure what year) as a child. I really liked it when I found it because of the colors and how nicely it was painted, so I bought a frame for it to hang in our room. John is slightly embarrassed by it, but I told him it was either going in our room or somewhere else in the house where everyone would see it everytime they came over. Not to mention he rarely buys me flowers, so now I have flowers from him everyday! :)
This is going to be my familly picture wall. The left picture is of Henry when he was about 10 months old, the middle frame will eventually hold a family picture, and to the right of the middle frame will be another frame that will hold a picture of our next child (due July 16, 2012)!
I am so happy with how everything has turned out and I can't wait to see what else we do in this house. It's finally starting to feel like OUR home!
Next project: Upstairs Bathroom!
