We moved in about 2 weeks ago and have been taking our time getting settled and deciding which project we should tackle first. It's been a toss up between the railings (we have a temporary fix to the problem), the upstairs bathroom, and the master bedroom...not to mention a few other small projects that have come up. The garage was one of those small projects and we took care of that last weekend.
So, now that we are approaching another weekend we have decided on our next project: the MASTER BEDROOM. While the bathroom is definitely something I wanted to update right away, it is functional. But we are currently using the guest bedroom (soon to be Henry's big boy room) as our bedroom, so we really need the use of the master bedroom. Currently the master is being used to hold John's clothes and some boxes. My parents are planning on visiting late March, so it would be nice for them to have their own space (the guest room) to go to during their visit. I will post before pictures of the master bedroom later because it is going to be quite the transformation. As of right now there are built-ins along two walls in the bedroom, not to mention the bed frame is even built in.
I'm ready for this house to start feeling like our home and I think that having our own bedroom will help with that feeling. Since we've been in the guest room we haven't really settled into that space and sometimes it feels like my in laws (the previous owners) will be coming back to occupy the master.
Oh yeah, for those of you wondering about our railings...our temporary fix was to tie baby gates to the railings to keep our little one from falling through. I will post pictures of those later. It's not a pretty fix, but it will work and I do feel better about Henry's safety on and around the stairs.
I should probably post pictures of the garage later, too. Until then...
